Is the New Canaan Real Estate Market Turning?

I am working hard each day but I see and note some changes to the positive of the local real estate market. Contracts are increasing, homes are selling, others are renting and my phone is ringing quite a lot with new buyers. Rental Season is Here. Even Timothy Geithner had to take a rental

The rental season is in full swing as some would be buyers have chosen to rent instead of buy. So far to date there have been 72 rentals contracted with another 12 about to finalize. During the same period last year, there were 62 rented.
Even Geithner, who tried to sell his Larchmont home this year for $1,650,000, entered into a lease for $7500 rather than leave it vacant. Click on the title above to read the story and see the house.

New Canaan Real Estate Activity May 18 through May 29 (Residential Only)


Much more activity in the real estate market.
Over the last recent period, the market has showed positive signs of improvement.
While there were 19 new listings of homes in New Canaan priced from $785,000 to $3,395,000, their were also 15 pending contracts, a ratio that we have not seen in some time. Their were also 10 closed sales. Mortgage interest rates inched up a bit also. Is this the bottom of the market?
